SolTech is Hiring a Mechanical Engineer Near Tallassee, AL

Overview:

We are looking for a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to introduce new designs into production, enhance existing designs already in production, and provide mentorship within the engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an industry leader in their respective field and act as a leader on the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of new designs and enhance existing ones for production.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  • Utilize expertise in CAD modeling, ANSI standards, and mechanical design principles.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and specifications for product validation.
  • Incorporate solutions to protect electronic assemblies in harsh environments.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and continuously expand knowledge and skills.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and collaborate closely.
  • Maintain focus on quality assurance throughout the design process.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating strong work ethic and dedication to excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (or international equivalent) or beyond.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant design experience, with a proven track record of delivering successful mechanical designs in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in designing injection molded thermoplastic parts, demonstrating a deep understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes.
  • Experienced in designing sand-cast metal parts, with expertise in material selection, mold design, and production optimization.
  • Capable of specifying machining requirements for both metal and plastic parts, ensuring precision and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
  • Skilled in designing stamped sheet metal parts, with knowledge of forming techniques, tooling requirements, and assembly considerations.
  • Proficient in modeling mechanical parts in 3D CAD software, preferably CREO, with the ability to create accurate and detailed designs.
  • Experienced in directing the creation and checking of ANSI standard drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and design specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing product test plans and specifications, including performance testing, durability testing, and reliability analysis.
  • Expertise in protecting electronic assemblies in harsh environments, implementing suitable solutions to ensure reliability and longevity of electronic components.
  • Interested candidates must be comfortable going into the Tallassee, AL office four days a week.
