SUMMARY
DevOps Engineer who will be responsible to build, manage, and automate our AWS infrastructure. This is a critical role in the facilitation of a fast, efficient, and high quality SDLC process. This role is also central to our SaaS platform, Equinox’s availability, responsiveness, resilience and recoverability.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:

You will be working with engineering teams and focusing on AWS infrastructure and automation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based production system.
• Ensuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS production systems.
• Management of creation, release, and configuration of production and pre-release systems.
• Evaluation of new technology alternatives and vendor products.
• System troubleshooting and problem resolution across various application domains and platforms.
• Integration of code scanning, regression testing and post promotion verification testing into pipeline process and tracking system
• Provision of critical system security by leveraging best practices and prolific cloud security solutions.
• Providing recommendations for architecture and process improvements.
• Definition and deployment of systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring on AWS platform.
• Design, maintenance and management of tools for automation of different operational processes.
• Participate in the entire SDLC Process
• Monitor AWS monthly spend (Identify spending skies, areas for savings)
• Proactively Monitor System Stability (looking for trends, Ex. SPLUNK)
• Provide training, help and support to other team members
• Perform team lead or supervisory functions as needed
• Build high-quality reusable code that can be used in the future
• Learn about new technologies
• Stay up to date with current best practices

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

• Hands-on public cloud experience - AWS, Google Cloud, and/or Azure (multi-cloud preferred). Prefer industry certification (e.g. AWS Certified DevOps / Solutions Architect)
• Over three years of experience in provisioning, operations, and management of AWS environments.
• Demonstrated competency with the following AWS services: ECS, EC2, ECR, S3, SES, SNS, RDS, Aurora, RedShift, VPC, IAM, Cognito, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, SQS, ElastiCache, Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, DynamoDB, AOSS, EventjBridge, GuardDuty, SecurityHub, ControlTower , Route53.
• Experience in code development in at least one high-level programming language.
• Knowledge of operating system administration.
• Experience in creation of highly automated infrastructures.
• Comprehensive knowledge regarding contemporary processes and methodologies for development and operations.
• Strong understanding of how to secure AWS environments and meet compliance requirements.
• AWS Disaster Recovery design and deployment across regions a plus.
• Experience with multi-tier architectures: load balancers, caching, web servers, application servers, databases, and networking.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Manage your own time and work well both independently and as part of a team
• In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)

· Experience with building REST APIs

· Working knowledge of the MERN stack

· Strong working knowledge of development, security, SDLC best practices

· Experience with back-end languages and frameworks, ie: Javascript, NodeJS, ExpressJS, etc

· Experience with microservice architectures & serverless technologies

· Experience with DynamoDB and Redis

· Experience with test driven development and testing tools, ie: Mocha, Chai

· Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools, ie: Jenkins, Travis CI, CodePipeline

· Excellent analytical and time management skills

· Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
• AWS Certifications
• History of working with Agile software development practices

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s (Master’s Degree a plus) Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines is preferred. Five (5) plus years of software engineering experience with a minimum (2.5 years) Dev/Ops engineering and technologies; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Need to be able to demonstrate ability to learn new technologies with limited guidance.

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:

· AWS – Cloud DevOps engineer or DevSecOps engineer tracks
