SUMMARY

The Quality Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the quality and compliance of our products. This position focuses on inspection, complaint evaluation, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Technician will work semi-independently, collaborating with cross-functional teams across the company who affect the quality system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Perform meticulous inspections of incoming materials and finished products to ensure they adhere to specifications and quality standards. (Chemical inspection such as pH, TDS, and other)
  • Evaluate customer-returned items to understand both complaint and non-complaint-related issues.
  • Document findings, identify trends in customer complaints, and contribute to solutions.
  • Assist with production quality control activities, ensuring adherence to quality processes and procedures. (QC such as chemical testing, pH, product measurements, and other)
  • Support the assessment, handling, and transactional records for material placed on hold.
  • Initiate clear and concise non-conformance reports and participate in investigations.
  • Contribute to corrective action (CAR) activities, including screening, record review, and root cause analysis.
  • Coordinate the calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment in accordance with schedules and procedures.
  • Meticulously maintain quality records, including inspection reports, calibration records, customer complaint files, and other relevant documentation.
  • Assist with record retention processes, including scanning, indexing, and uploading production records (e.g., Device History Records).
  • May perform other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of quality control principles, inspection techniques, and testing methodologies.
  • Ability read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, and inspection/ test protocols. (Required)
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, FDA, EPA)
  • Excellent observational skills and approach to identifying defects and discrepancies.
  • Strong written and verbal skills for clear documentation and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to troubleshoot issues and propose solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple open tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate and organized records.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment with sometimes shifting priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • Min 2 or more years of applicable experience in Quality Control or technical role in a production/ manufacturing environment.
  • One or more years within a production lab environment desired.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Applicable post-secondary education from an accredited Community, Technical, or Trade College. (Desirable)

    • Periodic lifting (50lbs), bending, and walking.
    • Work from both standing desk and general office sit down desks
    • Various environments such as warehouse, production, clean room, chem lab, and office.
    • Chemical production and lab testing. (ion exchange resins, acidic and basic solutions, fume hood)
