The Revenue Cycle Supervisor reports to the Revenue Cycle Manager. This position is responsible for training and monitoring the Revenue Cycle / Patient Access Team’s productivity as well as maintaining positive internal and external vendor relationships. The Patient Access Supervisor will also be responsible for assisting, coaching, and reporting all metric data surrounding the Patient Access Team to the Patient Access Manager.

Results Measured by the following responsibilities: 

• The Revenue Cycle Patient Access Supervisor is responsible for ensuring staff is maintained at an adequate level and receives appropriate training to perform their roles
• Staff have clearly defined roles with specific goals and objectives
• Employee issues (performance, behavior, compliance with policies, etc.) are addressed timely and appropriately in accordance with company policies
• Staff meet at least 90% production standards each month
• Explore and coordinate communication and training with Center Directors and Operations staff on key issues related to estimates, eligibility and denials
• Staff receive training for those who fall below production standards
• Estimates and Eligibility are run with accuracy and are communicated to patients
• Review timelines are maintained, including 5 days for standard requests and sooner for expedited cases
• Centers are notified of determination within established timeframes (2 Business Days prior to service)

Skills/Qualifications: 

• In-depth knowledge of billing and revenue-cycle processing necessary
• Deadline and detail oriented
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing
• Strong analytical abilities as it relates to insurance guidelines and denials
• Strong analytical abilities as it relates to insurance deductibles/co-insurance/co-pays
• Advanced knowledge of clinical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT codes
• Ability to read and understand different office notes and medical terminology
• Minimum of 3 years of Authorization or Insurance Verification experience
• Ability to work independently and under pressure while handling multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to make decisions and use proper judgment with confidential and sensitive issues
• Ability to deal appropriately with insurance vendors and team members in stressful or other undesirable situations and to seek direction from supervisors when necessary
• Demonstrate intermediate computer/word processing skills
• Excel proficiency
