Role Description & Responsibilities:

Dassault Systèmes Americas is seeking a self-motivated User Experience Researcher to join our team in Waltham, MA.

What will your job be?

The User Experience Researcher provides user research support to the SOLIDWORKS User Experience design team across the full portfolio of SOLIDWORKS and 3DS products. Including planning and conducting formative research activities across Discovery, Concept, and Detailed design activities, as well as summative research in support of improving the overall experience of shipping products. They also handle Research Operations to support efficient research activities, from participant recruitment and identification, to maintaining the right materials (test materials, data collection, and reporting templates), to maintaining and improving our research findings repository. They will also mentor other designers to conduct more and better research.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (Masters is a plus) in User Experience, Human Factors, or related fields.
• 5-8 Years professional work experience as a user researcher performing both qualitative and quantitative studies.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct user research across a broad range of techniques to answer key design questions.
• Background in engineering, CAD software, or technical skills are a plus.
• A portfolio of prior user research work (both user needs assessment and usability testing) will be requested in the interview process
• Experience in the user experience processes of interviewing, contextual inquiry, survey design, task analysis, formative usability testing, persona development, heuristic evaluation, expert reviews, competitive benchmarking, field studies, focus groups, UX metrics, data analysis, report writing, and similar processes.
• Experienced with Interviewing 1-1, group facilitation, interacting with customers.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize findings into into actionable insights based on research.
• Expert in handling data, research reports, and communicating findings in compelling ways.
• Strong communication skills both with customers and internally with UX designers, product managers, and other R&D stakeholders.
