The fire alarm and security technician we are looking for will have four or more years of industry experience and possess the analytical and problem-solving skills that are needed to troubleshoot various systems. Candidates with training or certifications from the ESA, SIA, and/or NICET are preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Completing service calls for commercial customers
  • Installing new Fire Detection, Intrusion Protection, Video Surveillance, Access Control, and Network Infrastructure Systems
  • Conduit and cabling for new and existing systems
  • Servicing components of Fire and Intrusion systems
  • Maintain good customer relations and satisfaction
  • Continually expands knowledge base by attending seminars, conferences, and professional training

Qualifications

  • Four or more years of experience with fire alarm and/or electronic security systems.
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Naturally organized and methodical, with strong attention to detail
  • Maintain a clean and professional image
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Experience with Honeywell Vista and/or Firelite preferred
  • Experience with NFPA Inspection and testing requirements preferred

Education and Experience

  • Current FAL Required
  • Texas Security License preferred
  • ESA and/or NICET Certification preferred

Physical Requirements

The Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Heavy lifting is required up to 75lbs
  • Long periods of constant standing
  • Able to utilize a ladder

Expected hours of work

  • Typically, 40-50 hours a week, during normal business hours
  • Completes regular network maintenance outside of normal business hours, typically one to two times a month.
  • Occasional work outside of typical hours to support special projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
