Location: Philadelphia, PA

Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Science Teacher to join our team for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Science Teacher will work with a K-12 caseload in an onsite urban setting. Candidates must be comfortable working in an urban environment and able to complete and obtain Pennsylvania clearances. Certified candidates are preferred, but we are willing to consider candidates who can obtain an emergency permit. Previous teaching experience in an urban area and strong classroom management skills are highly preferred. Openings are available for both Physics and Chemistry.

• Hours: 37.5 hours per week

• Subjects: Physics and Chemistry

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning
• Utilize effective instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
• Assess student progress and provide timely feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and projects
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and assessments
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Science Education, Physics, Chemistry, or related field
• Active Pennsylvania teaching certification preferred
• Previous teaching experience in an urban area required
• Strong classroom management skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
