School Psychologist

Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced School Psychologist to join our team in Stamford, CT. The School Psychologist will play a key role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students within our school community. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, providing counseling services, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators to promote student success and well-being.

Educational Requirements:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.

Certifications:

  • Connecticut State Certification as a School Psychologist.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychoeducational assessments to evaluate students' cognitive abilities, academic achievement, and socio-emotional functioning.
  • Interpret assessment results and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and intervention strategies.
  • Provide direct counseling services to students, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, and social skills development.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support students with diverse learning needs and create inclusive learning environments.
  • Consult with teachers and administrators on strategies for classroom management, positive behavior support, and academic interventions.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of school-wide initiatives related to mental health, bullying prevention, and social-emotional learning.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of assessments, progress reports, and counseling sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in School Psychology or related field.
  • Connecticut State Certification as a School Psychologist.
  • Previous experience working as a School Psychologist in an educational setting preferred.
  • Strong assessment and intervention skills, with knowledge of psychological testing measures and evaluation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in education.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced school environment.
