We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year in Kansas City, Kansas. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our school community, providing essential healthcare support to students and staff. Experience with special education students and families is highly preferred. To be considered, applicants must meet all requirements set forth by local and state regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to students and staff members, ensuring adherence to local and state health regulations and school policies.
• Conduct health assessments, screenings, and evaluations for students, addressing the diverse healthcare needs of the school population.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by healthcare providers, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with special needs or chronic medical conditions, in collaboration with educators, parents, and healthcare professionals.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the school setting, providing immediate care and coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
• Educate students, families, and staff members on health-related topics, promoting wellness, prevention, and safety.
• Collaborate with school personnel, including teachers, counselors, and administrators, to support student success and holistic development.
• Maintain confidentiality of student health information and adhere to privacy laws and regulations.
• Stay current on best practices, trends, and advancements in school nursing and healthcare.

Qualifications:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations, particularly special education students, is highly desirable.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, prioritizing student well-being and safety.
• Proficiency in electronic health records and other healthcare software applications.
