Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Location: Ashland, MA

Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team at a school in Ashland, MA. The RBT will work under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to implement behavior intervention plans and provide direct support to students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities. This position requires a strong understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to promote positive behavior change and academic success for students.

Responsibilities:

• Implement individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) developed by the BCBA to address students' challenging behaviors and support skill development
• Provide one-on-one and small group instruction to students using evidence-based ABA techniques, such as discrete trial training (DTT), naturalistic teaching strategies, and functional communication training (FCT)
• Collect data on student behavior and progress towards goals, and assist with data analysis to inform treatment planning and decision-making
• Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and other school staff to integrate ABA strategies into classroom activities and routines
• Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, including participating in IEP meetings and progress monitoring
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress, share strategies for supporting behavior at home, and promote consistency across environments
• Maintain professional and ethical standards in accordance with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) guidelines and state regulations

Educational Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an RBT training program approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

Certifications:

• Current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities in a school or clinical setting
• Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school environment
