Job Description : As a Paraprofessional for the ESY program, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs during the summer months.

Your responsibilities will include :

• Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with disabilities in academic, social, and behavioral areas.
• Assisting classroom teachers in implementing instructional activities and behavior management strategies.
• Supporting students with personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and mobility, as necessary.
• Reinforcing positive behavior and social skills development through modeling and encouragement.
• Collaborating with the special education team to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and ensure that students' needs are met effectively.
• Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success.

Qualifications :

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or some college coursework preferred).
• Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in an educational or childcare setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the academic and social-emotional growth of students with special needs.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and clearances required for working in schools in Pennsylvania.
