Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced PACU RN to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in both preoperative and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) settings. This position will primarily involve working in a fast-paced outpatient surgery center environment.
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care to patients in the preoperative and post-anesthesia care unit settings.
• Assess patient's condition before and after surgical procedures.
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage post-operative pain.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and discharge instructions.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments and interventions.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.

Requirements:

• Active RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a PACU RN.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility to work 40-hour days with variable start times (4 10-hour shifts or 5 8-hour shifts).
