Solaris HealthCare is seeking a Director of Recreation to join our amazing team!
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a diverse range ofrecreational activities tailored to the interests and abilities of ourresidents, including physical activities, arts and crafts, music, games, andspecial events.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment thatencourages resident participation and engagement in activities.
- Supervise and train recreation staff andvolunteers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services and adherence tofacility policies.
- Manage the recreation department budget,including purchasing supplies and equipment within approved allocations.
- Ensure all activities comply with federal,state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with localorganizations, entertainers, and volunteers to enhance the variety and qualityof programs offered.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree intherapeutic recreation or equivalent training/experience Certified.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in arecreational or activities role within a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a SupervisoryRole
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills,with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, staff, andexternal partners.
- Demonstrated creativity and resourcefulness inprogram development.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and bestpractices in recreational programming for skilled nursing facilities.
