Solaris Health Holdings LLC is Hiring a Radiology Supervisor Near Tallahassee, FL

Description

As a Radiology Supervisor, you will be expected to provide the highest quality radiology care to your patients and clients. You will work closely with patients in addition to other care providers and medical staff, and you will mentor and supervise the staff who report to you.

Radiology Supervisor 

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Offer a comprehensive spectrum of excellent radiology services, including overseeing radiology and diagnostic imaging procedures and troubleshooting any related issues.
  • Prepares patient for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing patient's needs and providing patient education.
  • Operates computer and radiographic equipment for image production and documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
  • Prepares patient's films for interpretation by radiologist.
  • Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
  • Monitor staff who controls such equipment, including but not limited to x-ray machines, computerized tomography scanners, magnetic resonance imaging machines and fluoroscope tools.
  • Comply with all clinical procedures and regulations and ensuring that team members do the same.
  • Adhere to all appropriate radiology standards of operation and patient care standards, including meeting efficiency and productivity standards, identifying issues in the system and working to improve these and offering insight to annual strategic plans and white papers.
  • Handle the financial aspect of the radiology department by contributing to the annual budget review, tracking and calculating expenditures, noticing issues and troubleshooting these.
  • Provide supportive care to patients by mediating and resolving any issues that arise between care providers, radiology technologists, medical staff and patients.
  • Improve and oversee the quality assurance program for the radiology department.
  • Provide technical assistance and monitoring in regards to medical imaging, including offering guidance as to technique and advice as to general machine operations.
  • Collect data throughout the fiscal year and be prepared to offer statistics and reports based on clinical, treatment and financial data.
  • Maintain safety standards as they relate to radioactivity as provided by federal and local regulations, and keep staff and patients within safety levels by controlling and recording dealings with radium.
  • Continue education by keeping certifications and licensure current, upholding professional contacts and holding membership in appropriate professional organizations
  • Work to uphold the reputation of the clinical environment by maintaining a professional demeanor at all times and strengthening the clinic’s ties with other leaders in the medical radiology field.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Knowledge:

? Knowledge of radiographic procedures and protocols.

? Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform radiographic testing

including body mechanics and patient movement.

? Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.

Skills:

? Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.

Skill in following infection control and radiological safety procedures.

Abilities:

? Ability to perform well when working under pressure in an environment with

multiple requests sometimes varying from scheduled exams.

? Ability to lift and position patients for the type of procedure required.

? Ability to read and write instructions, and comprehend simple instructions, short

correspondence, and memos.

? Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients

and other team members.

? Ability to competently use patient scheduling system, electronic medical records

system, email, PO (Purchase Order) ordering, film filing system and Microsoft

Office.

Requirements

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in radiography
  • Certificate in radiation therapy

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 2 years previous clinical experience.

1-2 years of supervisor experience

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:

Radiological equipment used for medical diagnosis and treatment. Standard office

equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Radiological unit. Exposure to disease, radiation, and toxic chemicals while performing

the work. Medical office, well lighted, well ventilated. Work may be stressful due to

continual interaction with others. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required

when applicable.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated

with a CT/X-Ray Technician such as standing six to eight hours per day. Involves some

bending, stooping, squatting, reaching above the shoulders, twisting, turning, kneeling,

and pushing, and pulling. Heavy lifting 75 lbs. required to move equipment and transfer

patients. Occasional stress when working with anxious patients.
