Description
As a Radiology Supervisor, you will be expected to provide the highest quality radiology care to your patients and clients. You will work closely with patients in addition to other care providers and medical staff, and you will mentor and supervise the staff who report to you.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge:
? Knowledge of radiographic procedures and protocols.
? Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform radiographic testing
including body mechanics and patient movement.
? Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
Skills:
? Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
Skill in following infection control and radiological safety procedures.
Abilities:
? Ability to perform well when working under pressure in an environment with
multiple requests sometimes varying from scheduled exams.
? Ability to lift and position patients for the type of procedure required.
? Ability to read and write instructions, and comprehend simple instructions, short
correspondence, and memos.
? Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients
and other team members.
? Ability to competently use patient scheduling system, electronic medical records
system, email, PO (Purchase Order) ordering, film filing system and Microsoft
Office.
Requirements
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2 years previous clinical experience.
1-2 years of supervisor experience
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
Radiological equipment used for medical diagnosis and treatment. Standard office
equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Radiological unit. Exposure to disease, radiation, and toxic chemicals while performing
the work. Medical office, well lighted, well ventilated. Work may be stressful due to
continual interaction with others. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required
when applicable.
MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated
with a CT/X-Ray Technician such as standing six to eight hours per day. Involves some
bending, stooping, squatting, reaching above the shoulders, twisting, turning, kneeling,
and pushing, and pulling. Heavy lifting 75 lbs. required to move equipment and transfer
patients. Occasional stress when working with anxious patients.
