Organization: Solar and Energy Loan Fund (SELF)

Job Title: Loan Processor

Location: Fort Pierce, FL (hybrid: in-person, office -based)

Classification: Exempt under FLSA

Salary Range: (commensurate with education and experience)

Position Overview

SELF is looking for a motivated individual to join the fast-growing SELF team. This position is full time. The Loan Processor will be responsible for reviewing loan applications, organizing, maintaining and advancing loan files, and requesting documents and information from loan applicants. This person will work with an established team and will require a full-time commitment to reaching the underwriting and lending goals of the organization.

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • A college degree, associates, or bachelor’s is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in banking and/or finance is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer savvy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and follow through with multiple assignments at once.
  • Ability to take direction and learn from others while also being able to self-initiate work and tasks.
  • Must have an analytical mindset and attention to detail to be successful in this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processing new loan applications submitted by Loan Officers.
  • Work with applicants through all stages of the financing process.
  • Perform data input and review income and budget calculations.
  • Ability to analyze files and overall client portfolio to determine appropriate programs and risk for loan recommendations.
  • Analyze credit checks/credit bureau reports.
  • Complete loan closings and authorize home improvement projects to begin.
  • Ensure that all policies are complied with while performing job duties.
  • Reviewing file documentation for missing or erroneous information.
  • Meeting loan application deadlines.
  • Support and work closely with the underwriters, loan officers and loan servicing team.
  • Maintain SELF’s culture and represent the organization with a high standard of quality customer service at all points of contact.
  • Other Duties as assigned by management.

Physical Demands and Vision and Hearing Requirements

Candidate must have the ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time, and must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 20 pounds. The ability to communicate with internal and external clients via phone, email, video calls, and text is a daily expectation.
