JOB SUMMARY

We are excited to welcome a motivated individual to join our startup company as a Junior Supplier Quality Engineer in Southern California's dynamic modular manufacturing industry. This role is perfect for a recent graduate or someone with 1-3 years of experience who is eager to learn and grow. ABOUT SOLA IMPACT & Model/Z

SoLa Impact is a real estate private equity firm with a double bottom line strategy focused on preserving, rehabbing, and building high-quality affordable housing in Black and brown communities. SoLa is Southern California's largest for-profit affordable housing developer and is currently in construction on over 2,000 affordable housing units across Southern California. SoLa currently owns and manages over $1.2 billion of multifamily assets, almost all of which are in low-income, Black and brown communities.

SoLa's new venture affiliate is reinventing multifamily housing creation by building the first and only standardized modular housing factory. The new venture platform is a comprehensive manufacturing system designed, engineered, and built to consistently produce a high-quality, low-cost, net-zero ready, and most importantly, standardized, modular housing product. The new venture is a Black-owned and operated business based in Southern California that will deliver between 1,000 – 1,500 modular housing units per year by 2025. 1. Training and Development:

  • Undergo comprehensive training in supplier quality management, modular manufacturing processes, and ICC-NTA standards.
  • Work closely with experienced professionals to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the development of quality control processes.

2. Supplier Evaluation and Selection:

  • Collaborate with the procurement team to understand the supplier selection process and contribute to assessments based on quality management systems and ICC-NTA standards.
  • Participate in supplier audits to learn about evaluating capabilities and quality control systems.

3. Quality Assurance Planning:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance plans for suppliers, aligning with ICC-NTA standards.
  • Contribute to the establishment of quality standards and specifications for materials and components.

4. Continuous Improvement:

  • Work alongside experienced team members to identify areas for improvement in processes, materials, and product quality, with a focus on meeting ICC-NTA standards.
  • Support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues and promote continuous improvement initiatives.

5. Quality Control and Inspection:

  • Learn and assist in the establishment of incoming inspection processes to ensure compliance with ICC-NTA standards and other relevant specifications.
  • Participate in on-site inspections at supplier facilities under the guidance of senior team members.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Gain experience in maintaining accurate records of supplier evaluations, audits, and quality assurance activities, emphasizing compliance with ICC-NTA standards.
  • Contribute to the generation of regular reports on supplier performance.

7. Cross-Collaboration and Flexibility:

  • Embrace a culture of cross-collaboration, working closely with various teams including engineering, production, and logistics to address quality-related issues.
  • Adapt to the dynamic environment of a startup company, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to take on diverse responsibilities.

8. Regulatory Compliance:

  • Learn about ensuring supplier adherence to ICC-NTA standards and other relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications.

9. Travel:

  • As part of the training program, participate in travel to supplier facilities for audits, inspections, and collaborative meetings.
