Indoor Air Quality Technician – This is a civilian position. Sol Solutions LLC seeks a highly motivated individual for the Fort Johnson, LA Office to fill an Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Technician position. This person must be experienced in Environmental Compliance and Army regulations and have strong writing skills. This position will support the Department of Defense (DoD) client in environmental management.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct IAQ preliminary assessments to include collecting general information about the building facility operations.
• Conduct detailed IAQ assessments, including making recommendations for demand maintenance orders (DMOs) associated with the building envelope or HVAC issues, as well as sample collection, analysis of air, wipe samples for various microbial analyses, and inspections of HVAC vents and registers.
• Maintain files of recommended corrective actions by the facility.
• Make Demand Maintenance Order (DMO) recommendations to the facility manager addressing corrective actions for equipment or facilities that contributed to mold growth.
• Support IAQ database, training, data entry, and queries.
• Participating in the IAQ emergency support assessment team requires 24 hours, seven days per week.
• Conduct emergency assessments and corrective actions.
• Mold remediation support on drywall, carpet, wood, etc., which per IAQ Management Plan and JRTC & Fort Johnson Mold Assessment and Remediation Standard Operating Procedures.
• Sampling and analysis of air samples and surface samples to support IAQ assessments.
• Conduct assessments, sampling, and analysis for asbestos-containing material.

Minimum Requirements

• High school degree, GED required.
• Knowledge and experience in conducting technical and environmental support.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong computer skills – excel, Microsoft word, PowerPoint, Etc.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license.
• Must be a US Citizen, capable of passing a National Agency Check, which is required to gain access to Government IT Systems, and a Common Access Card (CAC).
• Pass entry physical.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of mold, asbestos, and lead.
• Working knowledge and understanding of DoD organizations and facilities.
• Experience with DoD Environmental programs.

Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (hours may slightly change based on workload and other factors)

Salary Range

Based on the combination of experience and education, the salary range is $38,000 - $46,000.
