SOL Engineering Services is Hiring a Director of People Operations Near Jackson, MS

 

SOL Engineering Services, LLC is an engineering and technical services provider, with over 20 years of engineering and consulting experience. Our viability comes, in part, from utilizing the diverse backgrounds of the firm’s owners and the experiences of its team of approximately 100 engineers, scientists, technical subject matter experts, and program and project managers. SOL Engineering Services, LLC is searching for a Director of People Operations professional to be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources. In this newly created position, the Director of People Operations ( DPO ) is a highly strategic and hands-on leader with proven ability to develop and drive strategic human resource functions. The DPO must be passionate about solving problems and delivering solutions as part of shaping and influencing SOL’s growth, teams, culture, morale, and atmosphere, in general. The DPO is tasked with developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and initiatives to ensure the company has a strong workforce that is well trained, motivated, and productive. The DPO will be involved in other areas of the firm such as talent acquisition or management development. In this way, the DPO can help shape, take ownership, and ensure the firm’s overall goals are being met through its employees.

Requirements

  • 7 years of increasing responsibility in human resources, with a proven track record of building new systems and practices.
  • 10 years’ experience in human resources management. 15 is preferred. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, organizational development, or related field. Master’s degree is preferred. 
  • HR Certification, such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP, ( SHRM or HRCI)
  • Content knowledge in government contracting, SCA, CBA’s, etc.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws
  • Proficiency and/or comfort with People Operations technology (e.g., performance management software, applicant tracking systems)
  • In-depth knowledge of talent acquisition and development processes
  • Proven experience leading a team of HR professionals.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategy.
  • Entrepreneurial drive to build an organization from the ground up; prior start-up experience is optimal.
  • Experience designing and implementing innovative talent acquisition, performance management, and retention initiatives.
  • Proven leadership skills with clarity of vision and a commitment to the highest levels of integrity, quality, and collaboration, developing strong team cultures, promoting, and enhancing equity, diversity, and inclusion, performance management, and professional development.
  • Ability to manage a growing team with competing demands; not easily flustered nor easily overwhelmed by a high volume of activity and projects.
  • Promptly resolves problems through timely consultation in an environment of mutual respect.
  • Sets and achieves high-performance expectations that are motivating and results oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to hold confidential and sensitive information with care and empathy.
  • Highly collaborative work style with the ability to operate as a peer and thought partner to the leadership team members.
  • Mastery of relationship-building skills with a wide range of people
  • Seeks out and delivers timely and direct feedback that contributes to the ongoing development of oneself, team members, and a positive organizational culture.
