Sojourn Philadelphia is Hiring a Seasonal Bartender at Jet Wine Bar Near Philadelphia, PA

Job Title: Bartender

Department: Front of House

Reports to: General Manager

Job Type: Part-time, hourly

Compensation: $8/ hour tips

Business Overview:

Sojourn Philly is a hospitality group of four restaurants: Jet Wine Bar, Rex at The Royal, Café Ynez, and

Sor Ynez. Sojourn Philly has been operating restaurants in Philly since 2010. Our mission is to create welcoming environments that serve delicious food and drink, while being a caring and responsible neighborhood Partner.

Jet Wine Bar is the oldest restaurant in the company, having specialized in lesser-known global varietals for nearly 15 years. We pride ourselves on being an approachable wine bar, that prioritizes welcoming and fun guest experiences as much as deep dives on wine, regions, terroir and more.

Position Overview:

Jet Wine Bar employs a small FOH staff that positions Bartenders as the singular, front-facing resource for guests. The Bartender position is independent in nature and blends aspects of serving, prep, and expediting with bartending responsibilities.

Bartenders are required to self-manage all day-to-day FOH needs from open to close, as necessary. Operationally the Bartender will handle basic cleaning, prep, and daily inventory duties; utilizing proper equipment and ingredients to safely conduct service. Through service the Bartender is expected to greet guests, learn about guest preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, prepare and serve beverages / food, and upsell when appropriate.

Recognizing that Jet Wine Bar specializes in wine education and exposure to less familiar varietals and regions, the Bartender must be committed to continually growing their wine knowledge. The Bartender position provides expertise to guests and is trusted to accurately communicate wine knowledge.

Individuals in this role are encouraged to highlight their individual personalities while maintaining authenticities to Brand Values. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable. The ideal candidate is community and team oriented, with a passion for high-quality dining experiences. Willingness to learn and memorize details of rotating food and beverage menus is required for success in this role.
