SOFT's client located in South Plainfield, NJ ( Hybrid ) is looking for a Estimator for a contract assignment.

Job Description: Responsibilities:

• Provide project related ( electrical) estimating services to the Lines of Business in managing their business decisions that result unreliable, total project cost estimates
• Acts in consulting capacity to review and understand investment strategies, aligning cost estimates and scope assessments (risk) to those strategies.
• Required skills:
• Advanced technical degree/or equivalent experience
• Ability to create a high energy team climate whereby team members are able to discuss relevant issues freely and where there is a strong emphasis on continuous improvement, questioning the value of every activity and creating better solutions.
• Must be a self-starter capable of seeking out project related information from Project Stakeholders.
• 8 years of experience – at least 4 of which are in estimating. The balance can be made up of either utility construction or design experience.
• Typically possess 4 years of experience on a project performing work outside the estimating function.
• Must have estimating experience with an electrical concentration in High Voltage Substation/Transmission.
• Ability to prepare conceptual cost estimates from one line diagrams and general arrangement drawings.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Previous experience with any estimating software is a plus
• Adaptable, self-starter who is client-focused and encourages teamwork.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to develop high level, complex estimates.
• Interpret and understand project requirements.

Desired skills
Experience in performing Monte Carlo simulation to identify minimum, maximum and expected cost for the indeterminate scope items.

• Professional society membership.
• Previous EPC, or Utility experience.
• Previous experience with EOS/Sage 300 estimating software as plus.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $1.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Experience:

• Construction estimating: 4 years (Required)
• EOS/Sage 300 estimating software: 4 years (Preferred)
• EPC, or Utility: 10 years (Required)
• High Voltage Substation/Transmission: 10 years (Required)
• Monte Carlo simulation: 8 years (Required)
