About Hollywood Park

Hollywood Park, a near 300-acre sports and entertainment destination, is being developed by Los Angeles Rams Owner/Chairman E. Stanley Kroenke with the 70,000-seat SoFi Stadium as its centerpiece. Hollywood Park is the largest urban mixed-use mega development under construction in the Western United States. When complete, Hollywood Park will have up to 2,500 residences, a hotel, a retail district reaching up to 890,000 square feet, up to 5 million square feet of office space, and more than 25-acres of public parks and open space.

Home to the Los Angeles Chargers and Super Bowl LVI Champion Los Angeles Rams, SoFi Stadium is the host of world-renowned sporting events, including Super Bowl LVI in 2022, College Football Playoff National Championship game 2023, WrestleMania 2023, World Cup 2026, and the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Olympics in 2028. Adjacent to the stadium and under the same roof canopy is a 2.5-acre open-air plaza, American Airlines Plaza, and the 6,000-seat YouTube Theater. As the Lighting Designer, You Will..

Lighting Designer will be responsible for overseeing Video and Audio/Visual Engineering for YouTube Theater. Technical implementation and maintenance of the YouTube Theater Control Room, Audio, and Video Equipment, as well as assistance in overseeing and maintaining internal and 3rd party events, IPTV distribution. 

More Specific Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To…

  • Oversee maintenance of lighting systems advising on repairs when needed.
  • Design of lighting layouts, lighting control systems.
  • Understand and administer all applicable standards, and coordinate with internal partners.
  • Maintain up-to-date facility documentation; and partner with touring Lighting Designers to ensure production success.
  • Train/Assist and support broadcast department personnel with job functions as needed
  • Advance technical details for shows/events along with the Production Manager
  • Responsible for safe and consistent operation of lighting
  • Lighting Control console operation & programming
  • Interact with visiting production crews to ensure a successful show

We’d Love to Hear From People With…

  • Bachelor’s degree or equal Technical Degree in lighting design and/or minimum of 5 years of experience in the Entertainment Industry working in theatrical, live shows, events, tour, or stage productions
  • Experience with current lighting technology and industry standards for all aspects of Lighting Design (theatrical, industrial, concert, themed environment).
  • Proven ability to deliver on a project's established scope and schedule.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Expert with lighting consoles grandMA and ETC EOS
  • Familiar with system configuration software Pathscape, Concert, Etc.
  • Fluency with Vectorworks and industry specific CAD software
  • Fluency with Google Suite (Gmail / Google Docs) and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Proven leadership abilities to make decisions, and work with a Master Electrician and Lighting Crew to prioritize, organize, instruct, and problem-solve during installation, focus, and cueing
  • A knowledgeable and collaborative individual with a positive attitude, excellent communication, and organization skills
  • Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise level, extreme lighting changes, strobes & moving lights.
  • Exceptional communication skills 
  • Ability to work well with others within a team environment
  • Self-starter, able to work efficiently without direct supervision
  • Ability to work effectively with other departments receiving and communicating instructions via written communication, telephone, or in person
  • Ability to learn new technical systems
  • Ability to read and understand technical materials
  • Ability to set priorities under pressure of deadlines
  • Ability to concentrate for long periods of time
  • Ability to adjust responsibilities as we develop new opportunities
  • Must be able to lift heavy equipment, climb stairs, walk long distances when require
  • Must be flexible to accommodate shift changes including extended hours, weekends, and evenings
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Salary Rate: $100,000-$130,000

 In compliance with the California Pay Transparency Act, compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for this position only. Hollywood Park considers a candidate’s education, certification, prior experience, as well as internal and external data when determining the salary level for potential new employees. Only in exceptional circumstances, if an external candidate has the experience, credentials, or expertise far exceeding what is expected for the position, would Hollywood Park consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
