SoCo People LLC is Hiring a CPA - Outsourced Accounting Near Plano, TX

We are hiring an experienced accountant to work with clients and staff to support our outsourced accounting clients. Multi-client experience is a must. Our outsourced accounting team is expanding, and we are looking for a results-driven manager who is easy to work with.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee financial and accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, financing, and communicating with senior management for multiple clients
  • Supervise accountants and other employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, and budgeting duties.
  • Sales tax reporting and compliance
  • Payroll and year-end 1099 processing for clients
  • Prepare financial reports: Reconcile Bank Statements; Prepare journal entries; Develop and maintain a month-end financial statement package
  • Work with the partner or Executive Team to prepare and maintain budgets
  • Policies & Procedures: Ensures that all financial policies and procedures are being followed; Implement new policies and procedures to help identify, resolve, and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate
  • Coordinate and direct the financial planning and budgeting activities of the organization including providing superior guidance in the allocation of future and current cash flow to ensure the best use of funds generated through detailed cost-benefit analysis
  • Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed
  • Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions which will include the development of financial plans to support the business as it moves through multiple phases of the business cycle
  • Develop and monitor compliance with closing schedules and procedures
  • Develop and document internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting
  • Document and monitor accounting policies and procedures
  • Analyze financial statements for trends and document unusual variations in such trends.
  • Provide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Hands-on experience with general ledger, monthly closing procedures, monthly issuance of financial statements, and analytical reports
  • Prior experience defining and refining internal procedures
  • Experience producing financial statements with GAAP accounting and strong general ledger knowledge
  • Solid technical knowledge related to work assignments and willingness to take ownership of all accounting functions
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, critical/analytical thinking, and computer skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management, clients, and vendors
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience required
  • CPA/CMA preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of Excel
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of confidential information policies, procedures, and regulations that governs employee and employer confidentiality
  • Must work independently and as a member of a team
