Staff Fellow, Fellowship Education

*This is a remote or hybrid position. Priority will be given to applicants who live within a 100-mile radius of our home office in Chicago, IL.

Your Purpose: 

As a Staff Fellow, Fellowship Education you'll drive the development of top-quality SOA education materials and assessments for post-ASA prequalification, ensuring alignment with our standards and objectives. You'll collaborate with external partners, volunteers, paid resources, and staff, while managing administrative, logistical, financial, and professional development tasks to support the success of our Education Department.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Lead the development and implementation of the FSA education program changes for the year 2025, overseeing all aspects of the project management process.
  • Provide support to committees and task forces formed to implement the 2025 changes, ensuring consistency across courses and certificates within the program.
  • Collaborate with Education staff to recruit necessary resources such as authors/editors, volunteers, and paid personnel for the program's development and operation.
  • Offer actuarial and education expertise to complete initiatives for 2025, including faster grading, more frequent course offerings, enhanced learning materials, and regulatory certificate development.
  • Work with partner organizations to develop, maintain, and review regulatory certificates, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
  • Monitor project status related to course development, blueprint creation, catalog information, and introductory study notes.
  • Provide assistance and expertise where needed in areas such as syllabus material review, resolution of exam-related issues, and response to candidate inquiries regarding actuarial syllabus and exams.
  • Analyze the impact of proposed and enacted changes in the education system, offering recommendations to maximize effectiveness.
  • Participate in meetings of the Education Executive Group and General Officers, providing support and assistance as required.
  • Contribute to academic initiatives as necessary, such as Centers of Actuarial Excellence and University Earned Credit programs.
  • Manage, maintain, and enhance the FPR program post-launch to ensure its ongoing success and effectiveness through continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Need:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related field.
  • FSA designation earned at least five years ago. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with SOA education system.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel.
