Who We Are
We are an engaging children’s soccer program (ages 2-8) with a focus on character development. Though we are growing, we are still a family business at heart. We treat our employees like a team and we coach the children like our own. We are dedicated to providing high-quality, foundational soccer training that prepares children for a lifetime of soccer year-round. Soccer Shots is looking for candidates willing to work at our partner sites across Lake County including (but not limited to) Wauconda, Highland Park, Deerfield, Lake Forest, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills, Grayslake, Gurnee, Barrington, Lake Zurich and Buffalo Grove.
Who You Are
  • Must love children
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid Driver’s License 
  • Coaching, childhood education, and/or soccer experience is preferred 
  • Must be at least 18 years of age. A soccer background is preferred 
  • Must pass an Illinois & FBI fingerprint Background Check and undergo a medical exam in accordance with DCFS standards
Compensation
  • $20-$25/session as Level 1 coach after training. Sessions are 30-45 minutes & coaches may be assigned 3-25 sessions per week
  • $18/hour for initial 15 hours of training. We operate four 6-10 week seasons per year, so there is some time off between seasons. We provide you with lesson plans, uniforms, and all equipment necessary

Soccer Shots coaches are:
  • Safety-conscious - #1 priority is the safety of children under their care

  • Organized - plan ahead and conduct each session according to the provided curriculum
  • Responsible - commit to doing what is expected of them as an outstanding coach and "face" of Soccer Shots
  • Energetic - bring Soccer Shots to life by creating a fun and positive atmosphere that leaves a lasting impression on each child
More specifically, it is an instructor's responsibility to manage and direct all duties related to the operation of a Soccer Shots session, including, but not limited to, the following:
Preparation:
  • Attends coaches meeting at the beginning of the season
  • Reviews online curriculum (prepared for you ahead of time, and aligned with Illinois early education standards)
  • Maintains equipment in proper condition and arrives on time to set up the field for session
Coaching:
  • Ensures the safety and well-being of every child
  • For childcare sites, gathers children from classroom and returns after each session (note: for public locations, there is no pick-up/drop-off required)
  • Follows proper on-site protocol for each location, as prepared and provided by Soccer Shots supervisor
  • Conducts fun and positive 30- to 45-minute sessions, following the weekly Soccer Shots curriculum
Communication/Administration:
  • Communicates in a timely fashion with supervisors about any changes, challenges, or important information 
  • Completes the online attendance sheet for each session 
  • Submits timesheet per payroll policy 
  • Returns equipment and leftover supplies to supervisors upon completion of each season
