Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to lawyers and enhance office effectiveness. This is a high volume, fast paced criminal defense firm. We take pride is personal attention to our clients and expect all of our staff to provide support to each other as well as our client's. This is a hybrid-remote position. You will be needed in the physical office several days a week and are permitted to work remotely based on the needs of the firm.
Duties:
- Assist in document review and preparation
- Proficient in Microsoft word and PDF creation
- Manage and organize legal documents using document management systems
- Communicate professionally with clients and colleagues
- Perform data entry tasks accurately
- Support attorneys in various legal tasks
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- File documents at various courthouses
- Pickup discovery from prosecutory agencies
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with document management systems
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Must possess a valid California Driver's license
- Must have personal transportation
- Paralegal certification is a plus
- Fluent in Spanish is a plus
