Job Description

The Senior Manager, Competitive Market Insights plays a critical role in providing strategic insights and analysis to support decision-making. Operational responsibilities include primary market research, competitive intelligence, including analyzing and synthesizing competitive intelligence and market research data to inform business strategies. This position will support all key brands in North America.

**Please note this is a remote position with occasional travel to our Waltham/Durham offices. Candidate should live on the East Coast. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically, to build alliance cross-functionally, and the flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Partner with franchise teams to guide market research efforts, including providing results associated with strategic implications to the key internal stakeholders.
  • Act as CI expert, demonstrating awareness and understanding of appropriate CI applications and key internal and external data/information sources.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive competitive intelligence strategy to monitor and analyze competitor activities, market trends, and emerging opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Work with external service provider in conducting primary and secondary research to gather relevant data on competitors, market dynamics, customer preferences, and regulatory developments
  • Produce regular reports, presentations, and executive summaries to communicate findings, recommendations, and implications for the organization.
  • Partner with Global Competitive Intelligence and Market Research stakeholders to minimize overlap and optimize investment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; within a life science related discipline preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the pharma/biotech industry in a commercial or consulting role
  • Experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or strategic analysis within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry is highly preferred
  • Excellent strategy, planning and execution skills with proven ability to prioritize work to drive results
  • Highly developed commercial and business acumen; an ability to recognize growth and profitability opportunities and capitalize on them
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical market dynamics, including regulatory environment, healthcare landscape, and competitive landscape.
  • Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, data analysis, and interpretation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear and concise insights for diverse audiences.
  • Analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and creativity in problem solving
  • Ability to interact effectively with, and present verbally and in writing to, all levels of the organization
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment and standing out as a successful collaborator.
