JOB OVERVIEW:
Provides direction and leadership to Spa Staff. Responsible for monitoring spa facilities ensuring positive and friendly guest relations. Observes all activity within assigned areas offering assistance and instruction to guests/visitors. Develop, monitor, and control expenses within approved budget constraints. Promote and provide top quality customer service and hospitality. Recommend and implement services and procedural changes necessary for constant improvement. Creates a profitable business source.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Staff in Spa, Grounds, Food and Beverage, Rooms, Laundry, Housekeeping, Accounting, Engineering, Sales & Marketing, General Manager.
External: Hotel guests/visitors, Spa members, vendors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment. Use equipment only as intended. Maintain complete knowledge of spa budget and act accordingly to create a profitable business. Maintain accurate daily and monthly reports. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. Always maintain positive guest relations. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction. Supervise employees; interviews, review schedules, train, develop, mentor, coach & counsel, conduct performance reviews, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend Positive Discipline Procedures and termination as appropriate. Supervise the daily operations of the spa to comply with Standard Operating Procedures and safety regulations. Ensure an optimal level of quality service and hospitality are provided to guests. Coordinate and supervise the activities of team members. Provide information and assist employees and foster healthy positive employee relations. Develop Business Plan and Department Budget; Grow Revenue, Control Expenses, Be Profitable! Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas. Maintain complete knowledge of property management system and manual procedures. Ensure spa staff’s payroll is prompt and accurate. Ensure vendors are paid promptly. Ensure staff maintains computer security. Maintain Log Book/Memo Board Maintain notes and guest history in property management system. Maintain communications with spa staff and other departments. Anticipate and prepare for daily/weekly business needs. Inspect reception desk area. Inspect spa. Ensure spa staff is knowledgeable on all pertinent spa and hotel information. Assist spa desk staff as needed. Ensure staff adheres to cash bank procedures. Check posting of charges. Monitor reservations procedures. Monitor VIPs. Monitors wait lists. Research disputed charges. Monitor the spa for undesirable visitors. Maintain and adhere to OSHA/MSDS regulations. Ensure staff’s certification cards are kept current. Be familiar with and set up as needed hotel/spa packages, promotions, prices and rates. Maintain filing system. Maintain storeroom pars and monitor requisitions. Sign out employees. Close out end of shift.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist with other Spa job functions as assigned. Document maintenance needs on work orders and submit to Engineering.

Essential: High school graduate. 3 years spa experience. Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal. Provide legible communication and directions. Compute basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers).
Desirable:
College degree. Current certification as a Massage Therapist or Skin Care Esthetician. 3 years experience as a Massage Therapist, Nail Technician, or Skin Care Esthetician. Experience with computers, calculators, or word processors. Ability to input and access information in the property management system/point of sale system/computers. Experience in Hospitality Industry in similar position. Previous guest relations training Certification in CPR. Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish.
