EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Master’s degree in TESOL or closely related field required (Ph.D. degree welcome). 3 years of experience in teaching ESL or EFL to adults at the college level, preferably in an Academic Intensive English Program (IEP).Educational background in Linguistics or experience with teaching introductory level courses in sociolinguistics and language teaching methodology.Understanding of current L2 teaching strategies and techniques and second language acquisition theories.Experience training or mentoring future ESL/EFL teachers.Background in online teaching preferred.Ability to work well with a team and understand challenges and learning needs of L2 students.Experience with adapting to cultural differences or teaching in culturally different settings preferred.Ability to use learning management software.Evidence of professional activity in the TESOL field.Ability to teach courses through a variety of delivery modes, including online and hybrid settings.Salary: based on the highest degree earned and years of experience granted at hire.
