Snohomish County Parks Department, a Division of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), is seeking a highly capable Office Assistant II to join our team in a temporary capacity. This job is to fill (2) temporary Office Assistant II positions. These positions will start part time (24-32 hours per week) leading to full time starting August 1st (40 hours per week) supporting the Evergreen State Fair and lasting through mid-September. Applicant is required to work all 11 days of Fair August 22-Sept 2 (closed August 28th).Position supporting Marketing and Sponsorship for the Fair: Contract processingContract trackingUpdating distribution listsPromotional packages and disbursementCorporate customer support through fairGeneral office duties as assigned Position supporting Ticketing and RV Reservations for the Fair: Process RV reservations for Fair dates onlyCreate ticket packets/passes for Fair vendors, superintendents, employees and sponsorsLead position for managing the daily operation of the fair passbooth during the month of August through Fair (September 2, 2024)Cash handling and inventory controlGeneral office duties as assignedThe ideal candidate for these positions will bring these strengths to the job: Excellent communication and organizational skillsAttention to detailFast learner, positive attitude and reliableAbility to prioritize and handle a high-stress environment including multiple telephone callsProvide top-notch service to the residents of Snohomish CountyMicrosoft Office experience, data entry and computer experience
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
STATEMENT OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES Assists the general public in person or on the phone by answering questions, taking complaints, explaining services, policies, procedures and schedules; locates information from county records and provides it to the public as requested. Acts as a receptionist (as needed) with emphasis on directing the general public to the appropriate source of information or service. Receives, processes and issues various forms, notices, orders; reviews items for accuracy, completeness, required stamps and signatures; forwards documents to other offices as necessary. Enters data; sets up and maintains files and filing systems; retrieves information and purges files as needed. Prepares correspondence, such as: notices, reports, letters, forms, and documents. Performs duties of subordinate level employees; may act as a lead worker over subordinate level employees. STATEMENT OF OTHER JOB DUTIESMay collect and balance fees; makes change; may prepare bank deposits and remittances. May be required to make county deliveries to other county job sites.Performs related duties as required.For Public Works Road Maintenance only – may act as backup to the Courier and may be required to complete the mail run on a scheduled or unscheduled basis.
