Snelling of Huntsville has a large, established client in Huntsville with an immediate need for a temporary Weigh Station Operator.

Hours are 40 hours / week, with a rotating schedule between the hours of 7am-5pm, Monday-Friday, with one Saturday per month, 7am-12pm.

Pay is $15-18 / hour, depending on experience.

Duties of the Weigh Station Operator :

• Work involves the operation of a Scalehouse for the purpose of accepting incoming waste for disposal and the collection of tipping fee revenues under the general direction of the Lead Weigh Station Operators and the Senior Accountant.
• Work involves direct public contact resulting in operators serving as the principle representative of the Company for majority of customers.
• Implements Company control and security procedures.
• Controls the operation of a dual weigh station located on Company premises.
• Operates an automated scalehouse accounting system which assesses disposal charges based on the quantity of waste accepted and an established tipping fee schedule.
• Collects fees from facility user or charges user account.
• Maintains records and reports both on automated system and manually, such as vehicle count, load size, type and sequence numbers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements of the Weigh Station Operator :

• Previous experience as a Weigh Station Operator, or very similar experience.
• Excellent math and computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A good, cheerful attitude.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, plus one Saturday per month.
