Position Overview

The company is seeking an English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor to teach in-person English at their Miami Branch Locations. Content should include Reading & Writing and, Speaking & Listening with a focus on readiness for life and for work in the construction industry.

This position is for in-person instruction only.

• This is a contract position with approximately 10 hours of work weekly, 8 of which will be onsite.

Duties and Tasks:

• Teach during afternoon and early evening.
• Demonstrate student centered, communicative teaching methodologies (task-based, problem-based, project based, scaffolding, content-based) in lesson planning and in lesson presentation.
• Develop authentic, reliable, ongoing productive formative assessments for students throughout the semester.
• Utilize the assigned textbook(s) and supplement with level-appropriate materials as needed.
• Evaluate students’ entry and exit skills via the initial diagnostic tasks and final departmental exams and the department rubrics.
• Record student attendance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Fluent in Spanish
• Has English as a Second Language Credentials (TESOL Certificate) or a minimum of 2 years teaching same.
• Exposure to Learning Management Systems.
• Organizational skills and classroom management skills
• Ability to work with groups of varying ages and skill levels – including differentiating instruction.
• Ability to work independently.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
