Job DescriptionMUST HAVE: Specific product knowledge in doors, frames, and hardware, as well as familiarity with codes, and standards.We are looking for a skilled Estimator with a keen eye for detail, adept at plan interpretation, is a collaborative team player, and possesses excellent customer service skills. As an integral part of the team, you'll field incoming sales calls, meticulously analyze plans and specifications to ascertain bid viability, and promptly furnish customers with precise bids. Moreover, you'll play a pivotal role in pricing over-the-counter tickets for colleagues and providing pricing guidance as needed.Responsibilities:Evaluate contract documents and collaborate closely with the sales team to develop effective bidding strategies.Keep abreast of upcoming building construction projects in the Dubuque area and assess their suitability for bidding.Address architectural inquiries regarding hardware specifications.Cultivate and sustain relationships with Architects and Contractors.Tailor hardware solutions for Design-Build projects in collaboration with Contractors.Obtain project plans and specifications, ensuring the accurate and timely development of bids.Identify and mitigate risk by identifying discrepancies in construction documents and initiating requests for information.Perform meticulous take-offs and estimates using specialized spreadsheets, covering material, freight, engineering, and installation costs.Review contract documents and collaborate with sales personnel to devise bidding strategies.Manage risk by identifying discrepancies and issuing appropriate requests for information to obtain correct answers.Prepare detailed take-offs and estimates using a comprehensive spreadsheet, encompassing material, freight, engineering, and installation costs.
