Snapology of Jersey City and Hoboken is Hiring a Summer Camp Instructor Near Jersey, NJ

Snapology (www.snapology.com) is hiring summer camp instructors in Jersey City and Hoboken to teach STEAM and play-based kids classes and camps. Snapology offers STEAM based programs using LEGO Bricks and play based formats for kids ages 3-14. As the lead instructor, the focus of the job is to guide the kids with their activity and teach based on structured Snapology curriculum. The instructor gets to be the center of the kids’ learning and fun experience, seeing their impact firsthand.

The perfect Snapology instructor is fun, energetic, loves children, is passionate about education. To be considered, candidates must have 2 years’ teaching experience, strong classroom management skills and be dependable, organized, responsible, and committed to quality work.

The employee will have the flexibility to teach classes all days or some days of the week between the hours of 8:30-4 pm, with hours ranging from 5-15 hours per week, with the option for more. This is a fun, flexible position with paid training, employee discounts, and opportunities for growth.

Pay is between $25-$50/hour commensurate with experience and work.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead groups of up to 20 students through curriculum-guided activities
  • Instruct students in the use of STEAM and LEGO based learning materials and equipment.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and Procedures.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Adequately prepare prior to each class, by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in face-to-face training sessions as required.
  • Present in a friendly and formal manner, able to communicate with and handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs.
  • Encourage students & parents to enroll students in future Snapology programs.
  • Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings as required.

Qualifications:

  • Criminal and Child Clearances must be current.
  • 2 or more years of experience teaching children in a classroom, activity or camp environment. Education degree or teaching experience preferred, teachers pursuing a degree in education will also be considered for this position.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with parents and Snapology headquarters.
  • Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • Ability to get around Jersey City and/or Hoboken.
