Position:
The primary focus of an Assistant Instructor will be to support the lead instructor during Snapology programs. Assistant Instructors are asked to promote creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while educating students on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) concepts. Programs are conducted for elementary aged children during afterschool programs. Additional hours are available to support our summer camp season.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Assist groups of up to 20 students through curriculum-guided activities
- Monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
- Support student behavior in the classroom by reinforcing class rules and procedures
- Participate in periodic Snapology training & staff meetings, as required
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass both Criminal and Child Safety Clearances
- Availability weekdays from 2:30 - 5:00pm or 3:30 - 6:00pm
- Experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment desired but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis
Programs:
- Weekday after-school and/or evening classes
- Weekend workshops and/or birthday parties
- Summer camps
- Special events, holiday and break workshops
This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, Assistant Instructor typically work between 5-30 hours per week.
