Smyth Automotive is a privately-held automotive aftermarket company, owned and operated by the Smyth family since it was founded by George Smyth over 50 years ago. Smyth Automotive has grown and now owns and operates 18 auto part retail locations, 8 paint centers and 5 warehouse distribution centers serving Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Northern and Central KY, Nashville, TN and Indianapolis, IN.

Smyth Automotive is looking for Paint Specialist candidates for our Lexington, KY paint center.

The Paint Specialists will be responsible for providing professional knowledge on the products and services that Smyth offers. The Paint Specialists will need to communicate clearly and effectively to customers and provide them with the correct resources of products, tools, and support. A willingness to learn and grow with the company is a must.

The Paint Specialist will assist customers with automotive and industrial paint needs, applicable products that body shops, dealerships, fleet customers, hobbyists use; and ultimately be a reliable resource for Smyth customers. Other tasks will include:

Requirements

• Matching auto paint chips/codes/colors from customers
• Welcome and identify customer needs
• Explain products to customers
• Monitor Inventory to ensure product is in stock
• Enter and process customer orders
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints and technical questions

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED
• A willingness and enthusiasm to learn the automotive paint industry
• Must be able to mix paint to specified color using standard formulas or color charts
• Must work well with others.
• Attention to detail.
• Available to work flexible work schedule.
• Thrive in a busy, fast paced retail environment
