SMX is Hiring an Intelligence Imagery Analyst SME Near Tampa, FL

SMX is seeking an Imagery Analyst SME to join our growing team in Tampa, Florida! The SMX Global Open-Source Threat Network Disruption Cell ("GOST Cell") utilizes publicly available information (PAI), non-traditional intelligence gathering and exploitation methods to provide our customers with insight to counter counterdrug (CD) and counter trans-national organized crime (CTOC). The GOST Cell utilizes commercial subscriptions, social media, financial transactions, and open-sourced geospatial data to identify, disrupt, and interdict trans-national threat networks responsible for illicit drug trafficking, illicit financial flows, and the illicit trafficking of people, wildlife, natural resources, and weapons.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee team in the collection, analysis, and evaluation of geo-fused products and services
  • Provide expert support and advice to open-source collection and analysis, with a specific focus on imagery collection and analysis
  • Produce operational insights and recommendations for new tradecraft to fully exploit the demonstrated sensors technology and data to counter transnational organized crime and fill capability gaps
  • Interface with customer and provide expert-level counsel on technical matters
  • Study, evaluate, and report on spatial data providers in digital and graphic form
  • Provide analysis and assessments of commercially available and open-source data, with a specific focus on the imagery and geospatial domains, to deliver actional intelligence reports
  • Apply expertise in operations, intelligence, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and collections to enhance the client mission
  • Explore new data sources, create effective queries, and combine information from disparate sources to provide insight to counter counterdrug (CD) and counter trans-national organized crime (CTOC) insights
  • Fuse multidiscipline and disparate sources to provide accurate and timely geospatial and human network analysis
  • Incorporate measures of quality assurance and quality control prior to release of intelligence reporting

Required Skills

  • Required clearance: TS/SCI
  • Routinely demonstrate expertise and technical proficiency in the use of Geographic Information System (GIS) applications, Electronic Light Table (ELT), and Motion Imagery (MI) processing and exploitation tools to support analytic efforts and product development
  • Fuse multidiscipline sources to provide accurate and timely geospatial analysis
  • Knowledge of internet-based research, including Boolean logic, search engine and database resources, and internet sources, including social media, social networking tools, data exploitation, and commercial- and industry-based databases
  • Strong quantitative and analytic abilities to integrate and analyze data, solve problems, and effectively communicate results to senior leaders and decision makers
  • Succinctly incorporate measures of quality assurance and quality control prior to release of intelligence reporting
  • Demonstrate critical thinking skills and tradecraft standards to deliver analytic findings in textual form, graphic annotation, or other formats as directed by the government customer, and develop and present briefings to support customer requirements
  • Ability to conduct independent analysis to support mission requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Collection Management & Dissemination (CM&D) processes Understanding of operational requirements and layering of collection activities to meet operational end states and desired effects

Required Experience

  • Degree in International Affairs, Political Science, Foreign Area Studies, National Security Studies, or a related scientific or research field preferred
  • Experience utilizing commercially available/unclassified data and analytic toolsets
  • Experience with all-source analytic principals
  • Experience with advanced search techniques, information databases, data visualization, and related toolsets
  • Scripting in python or model builder to automate geospatial workflows preferred
  • Knowledge of other intelligence disciplines, including signals intelligence (SIGINT), human intelligence (HUMINT), Measurement and Signature Intelligence (MASINT), and Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT)
  • Experience in an Operations Center or Fusion Cell
  • Experience leveraging multi-disciplinary collection methods to provide focused analytic research and/or activities
  • Support to SOF and/or LE experience preferred
