Responsibilities

Primary duty functions include:

• Provide deep analysis and data collection of current systems and networks for the development and build-out of cloud architecture and business process modeling
• Maintain a standardized architecture repository, conduct regular updates, collaborate with cloud community partners to integrate architecture efforts, and provide tailored support to governing bodies with technical artifacts to support decision-making
• Serve as the organizations cloud subject matter expert (SME) and advisor to the organization
• Provide senior cloud system engineering expertise and technical advice
• Develop and review architecture and system engineering documentation for enterprise cloud environments, making recommendations for architecture and system engineering changes
• Develop architecture and systems engineering documentation for cloud frameworks and shared services
• Assist in developing or reviewing architecture and system engineering documentation for customers and application owners
• Verify that the solution architectures and designs accurately address control flow, interface issues, security concerns, and sizing
• Perform interface analyses to ensure that the interface specifications correctly reflect the system requirements and design, and the integration with commercial off the shelf (COTS) and legacy systems
• Participate in meetings and make recommendations on technical architecture deliverables ensuring satisfaction of system requirements and support for an effective system design
• Participate in Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) as a technical expert, non-voting member, providing recommendations for technical solution validity on all proposed change requests
• Review technical deliverables to ensure that requirements are achievable, traceable, complete, consistent, unambiguous, and testable; meet evaluation criteria for system maintainability, reliability, and usability; and adhere to industry standard system documentation methodology, to include evaluating specific deliverables, work products, and artifacts
• As the position requires flexibility, other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be a proactive, self-starter with the ability to manage multiple taskings in various stages with minimal direction and be able to successfully achieve desired outcomes
• Expert-level knowledge in implementing real-world cloud solutions in an organization of similar in size
• Expert-level knowledge of industry accepted standards and best practices related to cloud, architecture, design, and analysis
• Fifteen or more years developing and deploying mission-related IT systems
• Fifteen or more years architecture analysis experience
• Fifteen or more years system engineering experience
• Fifteen or more years professional experience in Army, DoD, or IC in a related field
• Fifteen or more years IT experience in the DoD or IC
• Five or more years implementing commercial cloud solutions, business process re-engineering, DoD operational and system enterprise architectures (i.e., DoDAF views), spanning requirements analysis through development to deployment
• Shall possess at the time of award, and retain, an active SECRET security clearance
• Master’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Broad spectrum knowledge with critical thinking skills
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Agile certification (Scrum, SAFe, etc.)
