General Overview:

As a dynamic, rapidly growing company, we are looking for a purpose-driven Area Manager to join our expanding team and become an ultimate ambassador of our brand. In this role, you will oversee 6 to 11 locations where you will be ultimately responsible for sales and profitability, ensuring a consistent brand image, and a quality customer service experience. You will be tasked with creating a highly productive environment focusing on building a motivated team, ensuring an extraordinary guest experience, and balancing other corporate priorities, focusing on strategic, operational, and leadership excellence. As the role will evolve over time, the successful candidate will show curiosity in the business, demonstrate willingness to take on new challenges, and lift our team by developing additional skills to assist and support our purpose.

Responsibilities:
  • Enthusiastically hire, develop, and lead the team and management at your stores to provide a great guest experience and fulfill our mission to inspire people to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • Use operational tools such as Profit and Loss Statement, Data Central, Brink Daily Business Review, Cash Deposit Log, and Drive-thru tracker to achieve Operational excellence within your assigned locations.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers (inventory management, shipments, etc.)
  • Complete store visits to include: Prime visits, Food safety audits, and Area Manager visit checklists.
  • Maintain and plan a weekly, monthly, and quarterly calendar of schedule.
  • Review store environment and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement and adjusts accordingly.
  • Manage cash activities for the stores (daily deposits, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with food safety guidelines in your stores at all times, while ensuring all Team Members are in compliance as well.
  • Own and promote brand standards in alignment with company vision.
  • Ensure store appearance and cleanliness are upheld and consistent with Smoothie King brand standards.
  • Drive implementation of company programs through action planning and inspiring team to meet operational standards.
  • Develop local store marketing plans to support brand initiatives, including initiating community outreach through marketing and special events.
  • Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments by using existing tools and programs as well as finding new, creative and effective methods of recognition.
  • Collaborate with Smoothie King professionals from Operations, Training, Human Resources, and Marketing to deliver the best smoothies and healthy retail products to your community.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains individual contributor and/or management-level staff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Handles discipline and termination of team members in accordance with company policy.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma required. Associate or bachelors degree in business, hospitality management, or similar field is preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years experience as a General Manager or supervisor of a team in a restaurant or quick service restaurant business.
  • Multi-Unit management experience highly preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and the community, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work the hours needed to run your store effectively, which might include a variety of days, evenings, weekends, holidays.
  • Availability to travel (50%)
  • Knowledgeable of general POS functionality.
  • Experience with OSHA, EEOC, and other federal and state laws and local statutes.
  • ServSafe Certification.

Travel Required:

  • Travel throughout the region (50%), working extended days (10-12 hours).
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle for extended periods of time.
  • In-state and/or out-of-state travel required.
