Smooth-On, Inc. is seeking a team-oriented, 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to join our company. Smooth-On is a 120 yr old company, located near Allentown, PA, specializing in silicones, liquid rubber, liquid plastics, foams and other products that allow creators from all walks of life to turn their ideas into 3-dimensional reality. 

The Production Supervisor will directly manage chemical manufacturing and packaging operations. Responsible for efficient execution of production schedules established by the Purchasing Manager. Streamline manufacturing operations by identifying and eliminating bottlenecks and delays, auditing workflow to manage productivity, and identifying and implementing process improvements to increase productivity. Conduct performance reviews, promotions, disciplinary actions and compensation adjustments for production & operation employees. Perform batch Quality Control (“QC”) tests using a variety of testing instruments and procedures prior to pack out.

Core Work Hours: Sunday - Thursday, 8:30 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.

Essential Job Functions:

• Maintain a safe and desirable work environment; identify and eliminate safety hazards
• Work with all Smooth-On employees and vendors in a civil, professional and respectful manner at all times – verbally, non-verbally and in writing.
• Ensure only the highest quality products are manufactured, properly packed, labeled and shipped.
• Coordinate with Plant Manager, Purchasing Manager and others as needed to fill customer orders as quickly as possible.
• Streamline processes and systems and increase productivity and efficiency in chemical manufacturing and packaging.
• Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective matter in accordance with established company policies to achieve overall objectives of the position.
• Enforce company rules, regulations, procedures, policies and programs.
• Schedule work assignments for personnel.
• Answer lead times for customer service requests.
• Mentor and coach with the goal of increasing professionalism on the production floor, job growth and effectiveness and job satisfaction.
• Help direct reports manage and achieve their projects.
• Communicate, orally or written, the right information to the right people at the right time.
• Develop, manage and implement projects that directly impact production areas.
• Prepare test instruments and conduct routine in-process batch QC tests.
• Record QC results on batch sheets and enter QC results into SOAR.
