Job Description

The LMS Administrator will be responsible for aspects of the implementation, administration, and co-ordination of the Learning Management System (LMS), driving process improvements throughout the Americas Training Team, stakeholders, and customers. The role holder will ensure a professional and efficient collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day administration of the LMS including continuous improvements for the user experience
  • Generate monthly reports and support data analysis for key stakeholders as required
  • Creation of new user accounts for internal employees and suspension of unused accounts
  • Facilitate LMS improvements and ensure staff are following released LMS policies and guidelines
  • Liaise with global stakeholders to ensure LMS processes continue to be standardized
  • Administer and configure user access, permissions, and roles within the LMS
  • Administer Learning Object audience permissions
  • Act as department point of contact for LMS user issues and provide troubleshooting support to all users
  • Create and maintain Learning Object naming conventions
  • Assist the Online Training Team with loading and maintenance of eLearning content on the LMS
  • Identify and escalate any obstacle that may negatively impact LMS functionality and the user experience
  • Comply with company health, safety, and environmental policies
  • Have an awareness of SSA, SSI, Trade Compliance, and Information Security Management System to aid in LMS configuration compliance
  • Liaise with LMS vendor to ensure timely resolution of support or technical issues
  • Manage implementation of LMS vendor updates and informing internal stakeholders as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

The Individual

This individual should have 3 years of experience in Learning Management Systems Administration, preferably with an Associate Degree or certification. They should have excellent customer service, time management, and computer skills, with extensive knowledge of the inner workings of an LMS, Absorb LMS experience preferred. This candidate should be proactive with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrate initiative to identify and solve operational challenges, with the ability to maintain good working relationships with people of diverse skills and cultural backgrounds.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • A degree or equivalent experience in Learning Technologies or Information Systems administration
  • Demonstrable experience of implementing & working with LMS
  • Experience as an LMS administrator or IT background preferred
  • Proficient in use of all programs within MS Office Suite
  • Proactive with excellent organizational skills
  • Experience within a training development and delivery department preferable
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills evidenced by an ability to write briefs
  • Business fluent in written and spoken English

  • Decisions may have an impact on work processes and outcomes
  • Erroneous decisions may result in delays and modifications to projects or operations and jeopardize future business activity

Key Internal and External Relationships

  • The LMS Administrator will support in LMS process improvement and quality evidence-based information
  • Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships within the business
  • Responsible for supporting the Line Manager in leading the department capability
  • Supports briefings and technical meetings for internal representatives
