SUMMARY:

The Project Architect oversees technical production activities in coordination with the Project Manager and other team members. Implements project design intent into a full collection of construction documentation, from schematic design to construction administration and closeout. Collaboration with all team members is highly appreciated, and you will serve as an advocate for project success by effectively outlining and developing your projects.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

As a leader in the creation of construction documents, you will work directly in Revit to create plans and specifications, as well as delegate and guide project coordinator activities. Create precise work plans to reach project milestones and constantly analyze time spent during production phases, adjusting as needed to match fees, budgets, and schedules.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Code Compliance

  • Analyze code and agency requirements, planning, and occupancy studies; create, analyze, or examine design layouts and possibilities.
  • Conduct consultations with regulatory officials and develop methods to overcome interpretation concerns about construction regulations.

Technical

  • Investigate, evaluate, and recommend design solutions, products, and assemblies that best meet the client's needs.
  • Meet with Principal, Project and Design Manager regularly for input on QAQC, constructability and other technical requirements

Construction Administration

  • Serve as primary point of contact for GC, attend construction meetings, conduct field visits and generate field reports
  • Leads RFIs and submittals, coordinating with Project Manager on design direction

Coordination

  • Communication and coordination with the project and design team, as well as external consultants such as civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical, and electrical engineers, to guarantee technical correctness and quality.
  • During the Construction Administration phase, aggressively coordinate with the general contractor, fabricators, manufacturers, consultants, and other parties as needed.

SOFTWARE AND SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Healthcare projects is ideal
  • Bachelor Degree or higher in Architecture is required
  • Licensure or licensure track is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in Revit preferred (5 years of experience)
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements required
  • 5 years of project experience in an architectural practice developing technical documents
  • Strong communication, time management, and organization skills
  • Working knowledge of e-Builder and related Construction Admin Software is a plus

Time Allotment

  • 70% project related
  • 15% business development
  • 15% administrative or as otherwise determined by the Principal

Physical Demands

This position will require local travel to all project and client locations, seminar locations, conferences, etc. Occasional out of state travel may be required
