Corgan is actively recruiting experienced, registered Project Architect to join the firm in our Chicago office location as part of our Aviation market sector. The firm is currently working on innovative and challenging projects throughout the U.S. and is pursuing new opportunities overseas.

Responsibilities:

Tackle these responsibilities alongside a team of creative individuals who are passionate about their work and ready to collaborate on a variety of projects in scale and scope. Our ideal Project Architect is highly motivated and progressively seeking more responsibilities across a variety of projects.

Responsibilities include:

  • Generating creative design solutions within the functional parameters of a project
  • Prepare and coordinate all project deliverables
  • Manage contract administration responsibilities
  • Coordinate with a variety of consultants
  • Provide leadership to staff
  • Manage client relations and ensure client satisfaction
  • Function in a team lead capacity, while working on multiple, challenging projects
  • Assist with creation and management of project schedules
  • Develop & present appropriate technical solutions to stakeholders
  • Assist with leading project studio team members, leveraging strengths, and providing mentorship
  • Work proactively to resolve issues that arise between project, design, and technical objectives of the project, in coordination with Project Manager
  • Execute coordination and integration of architectural and consultant documents
  • Seek innovation in design solutions in an ongoing spirit of curiosity and increased project performance
  • Demonstrate understanding of appropriate industry standards and construction practice
  • Maintain awareness of, and appropriately apply, new methodologies, practices, codes, and products
  • Attend and conduct presentations
Qualifications:

Qualified Project Architects already exhibit these strengths and talents:

  • Degree from a NAAB accredited architecture program or equivalent
  • 7 years of experience in commercial design; aviation experience strongly preferred or experience managing large teams on large-scale projects. Transportation related experience highly desired.
  • Revit proficiency and technical excellence
  • Thorough understanding of how a drawing set goes together
  • Acumen for how things are built and constructability
  • Understanding of building and accessibility codes
  • Experience coordinating with a variety of consultants and contractors
  • Interest in sustainable design
  • Professional registration
  • Effective organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexible attitude
  • Ability to collaborate in a diverse project team environment
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and leading projects teams
  • Ability to translate design concepts and information into images
  • Confident presentation ability
  • Potential travel opportunities
