RETAIL SALES ASSOCIATE

POSITION SUMMARY

The Retail Sales Associate helps the patient choose their perfect eyewear by educating them about frames, lenses, and lens enhancements. They create exceptional value in the lives of our patients by delivering exceptional benefits and unforgettable patient service through the ‘We Care’ Service Standards.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
Successfully completes our sales training onboarding platform in order to achieve the following:

• Greet patients immediately when they enter the optical or are handed off from a technician.
• Asks open ended questions to determine the patient’s eyewear style preferences and escorts the patient to the appropriate product in the gallery based on their lifestyle, prescription, and price needs.
• Understands what a proper frame fit is and ensures that each patient gets a proper frame adjustment before taking measurements; takes all measurement accurately.
• Navigates our software efficiently and can update/record frame, eyeglass lens, contact lens, prescription, and insurance information.
• Assists patients with the purchases or re-orders of contact lenses/eyeglasses via telephone, text, or email.
• Verifies insurance for material coverage BEFORE processing a patient’s order; presents a quote (with and without insurance), collects co-pays and payments.
• Basic understanding on how to read the documents in patients’ charts and know common optical billing codes.
• Remains active on Microsoft Teams to effectively communicate throughout the day.
• Takes pride in the appearance of the gallery and shows initiative in keeping the displays and inventory clean, attractive, and organized. Adheres to merchandising standards and keeps frame boards full.
• Protects patients’ rights (HIPPA) by maintaining confidential personal and financial information.
• Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
• May be required to perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• GED or High School Diploma required
• 1 year experience in retail sales; optical retail sales experience a plus.
• Minimum (2) years of professional experience required
• Current State Driver’s License & Clean Driving Record required
• Experience working with team members across multiple functional roles (Preferred)
• Basic math skills required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to spend prolonged periods of time standing, sitting, or walking
• Must be able to lift at least 25lbs
• Perform work with OSHA required PPE, Including COVID19 PPE

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
