Smith SP - Southeast Region - 00113589 - Team Georgia Careers is Hiring a Criminal Investigator 1 - Smith SP - Southeast Region - 00113589 Near Glennville, GA

NOTE: This position is in the Southeast Region and is located at Smith State Prison in Glennville, Georgia (Tattnall County). The selected applicant must either reside within the region or be within 25 miles of the region.

Applicants that do not have a PBLE certification will be required to pass a Physical Agility Test.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university. Basic Law Enforcement Certification with one-year experience in handling or training working canines in the law enforcement field. One year of experience caring for dogs and training dogs to perform such functions as detecting controlled substances, attacking, or tracking in a correctional, military, law enforcement or other setting in which an applicant would have acquired comparable experience in caring for and training dogs. Completion of Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) Certification. (Entry Salary without mandate: $50,314.00 and Entry Salary with mandate: $59,520.14). 

Note: Preference will be given to applicants whose full-time experience as a uniformed officer in a correctional setting was obtained with the Georgia Department of Corrections.
