Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Produce Clerk to join our team. As a Produce Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring the freshness, quality, and presentation of our produce department. Your main duties will include receiving and stocking produce items, assisting customers with their purchases, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming produce shipments, checking for quality and freshness
- Stock produce shelves and displays, ensuring proper rotation of products
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce department, including removing expired or damaged items
- Assist customers in locating and selecting produce items, providing helpful information and suggestions
- Operate cash register for customer transactions, handling payments accurately
- Weigh and label produce items for sale, following proper pricing procedures
- Load and unload produce deliveries as needed
- Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment

Skills:
- Experience in shipping/receiving or working in a retail environment preferred
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Knowledge of produce items, including proper handling and storage techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for retail transactions and inventory management
- Familiarity with operating a cash register is a plus
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain an orderly produce department
