Description

The RN Supervisor for the Oral Surgery Department plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the oral surgery department. This individual will oversee the clinical staff and maintain high standards of patient safety and satisfaction. The RN Supervisor will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing oral surgical procedures.

1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of clinical staff within the oral surgery department, including assigning duties, scheduling shifts, and providing guidance and support.
2. Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and protocols related to oral surgery care, infection control, and safety standards.
3. Assess patient needs, develop, and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses to treatment and interventions.
4. Provide direct patient care as needed, including assistance with oral surgical procedures, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing patient education and support.
5. Collaborate with oral surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of care for patients undergoing oral surgery.
6. Monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies and equipment necessary for the provision of oral surgery nursing care.
7. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and performance evaluation activities to enhance the delivery of oral surgery services and patient outcomes.
8. Serve as a resource and mentor for clinical staff, providing training, guidance, and support to facilitate professional development and clinical competency.
9. Act as a liaison between clinical staff, providers, and other departments within the office to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
10. Stay abreast of developments in oral surgery nursing practices, technologies, and regulations, and integrate new knowledge into practice to enhance the quality of care provided.

Requirements

1. Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in PA.

2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) Required.

3. Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in oral surgery nursing, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.

4. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.

5. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

6. Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, solve problems, and make decisions in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

7. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and computerized nursing documentation.
