Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Controller to join our team. The Corporate Controller will play a key role in overseeing the financial operations of our organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial matters. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Corporate Controller will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance across our network of dental offices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Reporting:
Manage the monthly financial close, including the closing calendar, account reconciliations, analytics and team.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Provide insightful analysis and commentary on financial performance to senior management and stakeholders.
Develop and maintain financial reporting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
Play a key role in the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
Develop financial forecasts and models to support strategic decision-making and planning.
Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing recommendations for corrective action as needed.
3. Internal Controls and Compliance:
Establish and maintain effective internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Conduct regular audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations affecting the dental industry, ensuring timely implementation and compliance.
4. Cash Management and Treasury:
Manage cash flow and liquidity to optimize financial performance and minimize risk.
Hold banking relationships and negotiate favorable terms and services.
Develop and implement strategies to maximize cash efficiency and minimize financing costs.
5. Team Leadership and Development:
Build and lead a high-performing finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members, conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation highly preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial management, including time in a key controllership role. Prefer healthcare or dental industry experience but not required for a candidate with strong controllership credentials.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
Proven experience in building and managing a financial close process, account reconciliation process, and financial analysis.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management software.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
