BE PART OF THE TEAM WORKING TOWARDS #BETTERGLOBALHEALTH Summary:The Sr. Accounting Specialist will be responsible for supporting full-cycle accounting processes, month end reconciliations and general day-to-day accounting activities. This role will include, but not limited to, monthly balance sheets, account, bank and income statement reconciliations, financial statements, supporting audit activities, monitoring Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, financial compliance and, data reporting and analysis, as needed. Responsibilities:Support and ensure accuracy of the full cycle accounting process including journal entries, account and bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations. Prepare financial statements on a monthly basis or as needed.Monitor Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable cycles from invoicing to payment which may include, reviewing supporting documentation, ensuring transactions follow appropriate authorization processes and ensuring accurate and timely processing. Perform thorough review of financial statements and data as well as engaging with external auditors to coordinate regular financial audits. Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies, and update processes and policies, when needed. Continuously improve, implement and document processes and procedures to ensure the efficiency, accuracy and integrity of resulting data. Plan and manage tax, government filings, and regular audits by preparing accurate documentation and data.Generate monthly balance sheet and income statement analysis and highlight drivers for key variances between periods.Support the expense process such as verifying back-up documentation, propriety of charges incurred with corporate cards and ensuring timely payment of monthly statements.Collaborate with cross-functional teams for continuous improvement of processes, procedures and policies to ensure cost efficiency and control.Comply with the privacy, security and confidentiality policies. Requirements:Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting or related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong knowledge of financial and accounting processes, including demonstrated experience across key accounting, finance, tax, and regulatory functions.Qualified Accountant is required (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).Practical experience with significant change or capital project, ideally having operated in a project steering group.Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate and timely data and documentation. Highly organized with the ability to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.Proactive and strategic approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Self-motivated in managing workload and professional development with ability to collaborate with peers and cross-functional resources.Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills. Experience with NetSuite and knowledge of cross-border transactions, preferred. Smile's core values include respect, inclusion, embracing our differences, and celebrating shared values and because our people are the foundation of our success, we remain dedicated to building diverse and inclusive teams.
