Description

 An hour north of Salt Lake City, Powder Mountain is a year-round destination for an ongoing program of events and activities - a home to the emergent culture of creativity and collaboration. Powder Mountain is the largest ski-able resort in North America and is preserving its magical skiing experience for generations to come and to save it from over development. We are not just another job, we are a community. 

Our Rental Technician will work with our rental guests to provide an exceptional and efficient rental experience. May be required to also perform retail/sales role in the ski shop as well. Rental Technicians will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitized work area to ensure safety for both our employees and guests.

  • Attend and complete all required training sessions and obtain all online certifications from applicable binding and helmet manufacturers Attend vendor led clinics.
  • Provide consistent exceptional customer service.
  • Assist guests through the rental process. Assisting them in the proper selection of equipment. Ensure that all equipment is adjusted for the specific renter utilizing industry standards. Offer every guest rental upgrades, boots, skis and snowboards. If they accept, ensure that they pay the cashier for the upgrades.
  • Provide appropriate instruction on rental equipment’s use and customer responsibility. Ensure that the rental customer signs all appropriate waivers.
  • Properly utilize the computerized rental solutions system to ensure all equipment is correctly checked out and checked in when returned. Maintain a complete record. Notify Rental manager of any operations issues that arise.
  • Examine all rental equipment as it is rented and returned for general condition and damage, ensuring that the equipment is safe for the next guest. If it is deemed not unsafe, notify the rental manager and place equipment at the repair bench. If the equipment was damaged by the returning renter, appropriate repair fees are assessed and the customer is directed to the cashier for payment.
  • Consistently monitor guest flow and needs to expedite rental process.
  • Acquire all of the required Binding Manufacturer's Certifications. Provide copies of certification documentation to the rental manager.
  • Cross-train with the retail/sales manager.
  • Work with rental and retail managers to maintain Ski Shop presentation standards.
  • Maintain proper organization, cleanliness and sanitation of the Ski Shop at all times.
  • Wear appropriate clothing for mountain conditions. Wear provided uniform when directed.
  • Present yourself as a Powder Mountain ambassador by engaging the guests and providing Resort-wide information even when you are not on the clock.
  • Always be attentive to the needs and safety of all Mountain guests and employees.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Modest mechanical aptitude and good attention to detail
  • Above average social and customer service skills
  • Be available to work weekends and holidays
  • Be able to work under stressful and socially demanding conditions
  • Be able to report to work on time
  • Be able to respond productively to directions

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:

  • Full range of body movements
  • Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (40 lbs)
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting
  • Vision requirements – close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
  • Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain
  • Climb/descend stairs/ladders
  • Manual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basis
  • Safely handle hazardous materials

Working environment: Work is primarily performed in an indoor environment; exposure to noise, dust, mechanical and electrical hazards, and cleaning chemicals. Occasionally exposed to outdoor climate in which team member will be exposed to a variety of temperatures/weather.
