SMC Landcare LLC is Hiring a Maintenance Laborer Near Frisco, TX

The Maintenance Laborer is responsible for carrying out various tasks to fulfill grounds maintenance service contracts. This role involves operating tools and equipment to complete assigned job tasks.

Job Duties:

  • Assist with loading/unloading of trucks and trailers in the morning and evening
  • Perform lawn care duties such as grass cutting, edging, debris cleanup, trimming, fertilization, and watering under the supervisor's guidance
  • Move and install soil, mulch, and plant materials for landscaping projects
  • Operate power equipment including tractors, mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, saws, and more
  • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Support the supervisor in other work-related tasks, including construction projects and maintenance
  • Adhere to safety regulations and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner

Requirements:

  • Experience in the landscape/construction industry
  • Ability to operate equipment and tools safely and responsibly
  • Effective communication skills for following instructions and reporting progress
  • Time management skills
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment used in landscaping/construction
  • Capability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Physical fitness for standing, walking, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Preference given to candidates with a valid driver's license and a safe driving record

Work Conditions:

  • Use of hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials
  • Lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly during the work shift
  • Work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good manual dexterity and stamina required
  • Regularly work near heavy equipment and vehicles
  • Outdoor work in various weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
  • Flexible working hours, including occasional weekend work
